Dental Technology

Advanced equipment, experienced hands — for more accurate diagnosis and more comfortable treatment.

At Beyond Smiles Family Dental, we've invested in diagnostic and restorative technology that genuinely improves patient outcomes. The equipment listed here is in everyday use at our Bella Vista practice — not aspirational.

Microscope

Whenever possible, treatment is performed under magnification using our microscope. The Global's six steps of magnification enables true microdentistry — precision that makes a real difference in restorative and endodontic work. A camera attached to the microscope is connected to the overhead TV, so patients can see exactly what we see.

CEREC — Single-Visit Crowns and Fillings

Single-visit crowns and fillings. CEREC CAD/CAM technology is a revolutionary new way to create crowns and fillings in ceramic materials, in a single visit. No second appointment, no temporary crown — the permanent restoration is designed, milled, and fitted while you wait.

Laser Decay Diagnosis — Diagnodent

Our Diagnodent unit enables us to detect cavities very early in their development. It directs laser light into the tooth and measures changes in the way the light is reflected — catching decay at a stage when less invasive treatment is still an option.

OPG — Full-Mouth Panoramic X-Ray

An orthopantomogram (OPG) gives us a full-mouth panoramic X-ray in a single exposure — invaluable for assessing wisdom teeth, detecting cysts, and planning complex treatment. Our OPG machine is on-site, so there's no referral out for a basic diagnostic scan.

Digital Radiography (X-Rays)

Our modern digital X-ray facilities use a sensor significantly more sensitive than conventional film — which means shorter exposures for patients and sharper images on the computer monitor within seconds. Less radiation, faster diagnosis.

Pulse-Oximeter for Sleep Survey

We lend patients a Konica-Minolta Pulsox-300i pulse-oximeter for initial sleep screening at home. It records heart rate and blood-oxygen levels overnight, with results uploaded and analysed by a specialist facility. There's no charge for the loan of the device; a small fee applies for data analysis.

CBCT — Cone Beam Computed Tomography

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) gives us detailed 3D imaging of teeth, bone, and soft tissue — at lower radiation doses than conventional CT. We use it for Dental Implant Planning, Orthodontic Assessments, Sinus and Nasal Pathologies, TMJ Disorders, and Oral Surgery planning.
